Tax Payments

To access the on-line current tax payment option,click here and choose Ellis County and follow all instructions. It will be necessary that you have readily available your tax statement to accurately answer all questions. On-line payments for current tax, is a service not available for delinquent tax payments.

Motor Vehicle Registration Renewals

  • You may renew your registration electronically online www.kswebtags.org or by phone (1-866-457-8247) if:
  • Your vehicle is currently registered in Kansas
  • You have a Kansas motor vehicle registration renewal notice with a Pin number
  • Your address on the renewal is current (if your address has changed, do not renew electronically, as your decal or plate will be mailed to wrong address)
  • Your vehicle is currently insured by a participating insurance company

The on-line web renewal option www.kswebtags.org will accept your renewal payment by E-Check or by major credit card. The phone renewal option (1-866-457-8247) will accept your renewal payment by major credit card only. Major credit cards accepted: VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card. The payment processor charges a 2.5% convenience fee for the use of this service, this fee is paid for by the customer.

When renewing your tags electronically:

  • Go to www.kswebtags.org or call toll-free 1-866-457-8247
  • Locate the PIN number on your renewal notice
  • Follow the screen or voice instructions

Once you have completed your transaction, your receipt, decal or license plate will be mailed within ten days from your local County Treasurer’s Motor Vehicle Office. Motor vehicles may not be legally operated without a current plate. Please allow sufficient time when renewing electronically to ensure your registration does not expire.

On-line registration renewals is a service not available when renewing the following plate types: Children’s Trust Fund, Educational Institution, Ex-Prisoner of War, National Guard, Pearl Harbor Survivor, Shriners, Disabled, Disabled Veteran and Personalized Disable (during a re-certification year)
